TREK Girls in Guadalajara

Just a little update on our TREK situation. On Monday we picked up 3 out of 4 TREK girls who are scheduled to be with us in Guadalajara for 7 months. I mentioned the issue of Ying's visa in my last post. The latest news is that immigration tells us it will take another month for the visa to be processed. So, we are hoping and praying that Ying will join us at the beginning of December. Please continue to pray with us since their are still possible hurdles to overcome!!
So, Nikki, Angelica, and Laura arrived Monday morning and jumped right into language school. This afternoon we finally took them out to see a little of the sights of Guadalajara. Here's a picture of us downtown.

On another note...tonight is "Halloween" back home. Down here they celebrate "Day of the Dead" on November 2, which is a bit of a morbid holiday where they set out food for their dead relatives, believing that the spirits of their ancestors return and eat the food. Our maintenance man's (Luis) kids bought plastic pumpkins the other day, and we told them to come by our place on the 31st and they would receive treats. They just came by our place saying "Queremos Halloween"(we want Halloween) and they are just the cutest little kids!!!! Here's a picture.
