Off to English Camp

This will have to be a short entry! A week ago we received an ACTION team of 6 from Winnipeg. They helped us out as we put on a Kid's Camp at our church (RETO). I taught a workshop on being a "Locksmith"...basically we talked about how every lock has one key to open it. Just like Jesus is the only way to heaven. We had a record number of kids...about 55..and they had way more energy than usual!! It was great. I'll have to post pictures later.

The Ashton family (Colin and Karen) were also with us all week, and it was great to see their kids jumping in and relating with a whole new group of Mexican kids. By the end of their time Koby was saying "si" more naturally than "yes"...sooooo cute!!

And today I head off to Tapalpa...about 2 hours away into the mountains, where we will be staying in some cabins with a group of youth and families who want to learn English. We have a team from South Abbotsford Church here to teach the classes. Our ACTION team will help out with planning and leading afternoon activities. This is a great opportunity to build deeper relationships with our youth, and there are a few non-believers in the group, so please pray with me that peoples lives would be touched and changed through this week.

The South Abby team has had to struggle to get here. They were at the airport waiting for a delayed flight when one of the women received news that her daughter and son-in-law were in a serious car accident, and her son-in-law was killed. She returned home to be with her family (please pray for them as they journey through this painful experience). The women had to make some quick decisions, juggle their luggage, take a taxi from Bellingham to Seattle to catch their connecting flight. And finally made it down here exhausted and in pain for their friend.

I have been asked to step in and teach the beginner class (since they are short a teacher), so please pray for me as I quickly switch gears and prepare to teach. It seems like our English camp has met resistance all along the way. Please pray that God would be at work in all that we do.
